What's likely to be in the May Budget for women? I'm hoping to see more of a focus on women's financial insecurity, equality and safety. As a recap, the last Budget in September delivered a low baseline. https://buff.ly/3eikf8o #Maybudget #genderequality

Why is Australia going downhill on gender equality
Why is Australia going downhill on gender equality? So much of our progress seems dependent on having more women in positions of power. Just have a look at the top three performing countries in this list! Getting in the habit of saving money is a bit like signing up to a gym membership. So it’s finally happened, the PM will head up a taskforce on women’s economic security in Australia after pressure surrounding sexual assault, lewd acts which just keep coming. My wish list for this taskforce is that it actually takes action on:
Paid parental leave in super for men and women.
Normalise flexible work and primary caring for men and women by breaking down gender stereotypes and supporting cultural change.
Universal childcare to support female workforce participation.
An end to domestic violence culture in this country.

Property prices in many of Australia’s seaside regional towns are going through the roof. Not that I can’t see why! But there is still an opportunity for buyers in many of these areas to get in, particularly female investors looking to close the wealth gap in property ownership and take advantage of the #seachange triggered by greater work from home awareness thanks to #covid_19
